How do I submit music to BBC Introducing?
Upload through the BBC Introducing Uploader with a BBC account and a UK postcode. You can send up to two tracks every 30 days; your postcode routes them to your local BBC Introducing show, whose team can pass them on to Radio 1, 1Xtra, Radio 2, 6 Music and other national stations.
What BBC Introducing is
BBC Introducing is the BBC's platform for unsigned, undersigned and self-releasing UK artists. It runs local shows across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland plus national Introducing shows on Radio 1, 1Xtra and 6 Music. The BBC reduced the number of English regional shows from 32 to 20 in 2023.
How the Uploader works
The Uploader is the only official way to send music to BBC Introducing. You sign in with a BBC account, give a UK postcode and upload audio with track details such as composer names and your PRS tune code if you have one. Artists can upload up to two tracks every 30 days, and the BBC says a member of the Introducing team will listen. Explicit tracks are not considered, so upload a clean edit.
- 01Create a BBC account and an Introducing artist profile.
- 02Use a postcode where you genuinely live or work — it picks your local show.
- 03Upload your most radio-ready track first, then one that shows your range.
- 04Add complete track details, including writers and PRS information.
- 05Keep releasing and uploading — local teams follow artists over time.
How tracks reach national BBC radio
Local Introducing producers and presenters can recommend tracks to national stations and their Introducing shows. Radio 1, 1Xtra and 6 Music each have dedicated Introducing programmes, and Radio 2 has featured Introducing acts on its evening show. There is no separate public inbox for those stations: Introducing is the route for unsigned artists.
Make the upload count
Tag the genre accurately so the right specialist team hears it, upload before release so presenters can play it on release week, and play local shows — local teams book and champion artists they can see live.

Common questions
Can I submit to BBC Introducing from outside the UK?
No. The Uploader requires a UK postcode and is for UK-based artists. A separate 2025 pilot, BBC Introducing in America, is limited to Tennessee artists and is not the UK Uploader.
How many songs can I upload to BBC Introducing?
Up to two tracks every 30 days.
