How do I submit music to BBC Radio 2?

Radio 2 has no separate submission inbox. Unsigned UK artists upload to BBC Introducing, which lists Radio 2 among the national stations its teams can recommend to, and Radio 2 has featured Introducing acts on its evening programme. Playlist adds for released singles usually come through labels and pluggers.

The Introducing route

Upload to the BBC Introducing Uploader. Local teams can pass tracks to Radio 2, and since 2024 Jo Whiley's evening show has run a regular spotlight on a BBC Introducing act.

What suits Radio 2

Radio 2 is the UK's largest adult contemporary station: melodic songs, strong vocals, singer-songwriters, adult pop, rock and soul. If your track would sit next to established adult artists, it fits; if it is built for a young streaming audience, Radio 1 or 1Xtra is the better target.

  1. 01Upload your most melodic, radio-ready single to BBC Introducing.
  2. 02Prepare a clean radio edit around three minutes.
  3. 03Build press and local radio support before approaching the playlist.
  4. 04Use a plugger with Radio 2 relationships for a released single.
