How do I submit music to BBC Radio 1Xtra?

Upload to the BBC Introducing Uploader and tag the genre accurately; it feeds the dedicated BBC Introducing on 1Xtra show, and 1Xtra features an Introducing artist each week. Beyond that, specialist DJs and pluggers drive playlist adds.

BBC Introducing on 1Xtra

1Xtra has its own BBC Introducing show for new hip-hop, grime, R&B, Afrobeats, dancehall and UK rap. Tracks arrive through the BBC Introducing Uploader — accurate genre tags help them reach the right team.

Specialist DJs

1Xtra's specialist DJs break new records in their genres. Research the shows that play your lane and the DJs who host them, and build support in the scene — mixtapes, clubs, online platforms — that those DJs follow.

01Upload a clean edit to BBC Introducing with the right genre tag.
02Map the 1Xtra specialist shows for your genre.
03Build scene support the DJs already watch.
